The Student Experience

A woman stands next to a colorful painting on a gallery wall, gesturing with her hands as she speaks. The painting depicts three expressive figures in dynamic poses. Another large, blue artwork hangs on the adjacent wall.

Many fine arts students take advantage of Hofstra’s proximity to New York City by pursuing internships at leading museums, galleries, media outlets, publishers, and record labels. Faculty in the Department of Fine Arts, Design, Art History maintain strong professional ties and actively help students connect with working art professionals.
