Turning Innovation Into Opportunity

The mission of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is to foster a community that encourages superior learning, teaching, impactful research, and the development of business ventures.

Core enterprises include the Hofstra-Digital Remedy Venture Challenge and Unispan Records.  Through these initiatives, entrepreneurs participate in boot camps, workshops, and mentor sessions, all facilitated by season entrepreneurs.

The Institute is home to the Scott Skodnek Businss Development Center (BDC), a designated State Entrepreneurial Assistance Center offering support to diverse entrepreneurs through digital marketing workshops, financial management and certifications.

A NYS Certified Business Incubator that connects companies to student interns, mentorship, provides professional service reimbursement, and is part of the Long Island Innovation Hot Spot.

Community Initiatives

Community Initiatives support local entrepreneurs through a range of services, including the signature 60-hour EAC Program for startups and growing businesses, as well as technical assistance with New York State MWBE certification and QuickBooks training.

Hofstra’s Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) supports faculty and students through dynamic programs that foster creativity and real-world experience.
