With students from 47 states and 50 countries, including a rapidly-growing Chinese and South American community, the value of a Hofstra degree is recognized across the country and around the globe. Hofstra is the only private university on Long Island recognized by every major college ranking, including The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges, Fiske Guide, Colleges of Distinction, and U.S. News and World Report’s National Universities, and is one of only three New York regional universities with colleges of law, medicine, and engineering.
In the last decade, the academic qualifications of our entering first-year classes have risen (more than 100 point rise in SAT scores, for example). Finally, the faculty and academic units ensure that our programs meet the test of accreditation. Hofstra holds 22 academic accreditations (25 total) through nationally recognized professional and academic organizations, in disciplines such as engineering, communications, business and the sciences.
