About the Department
The Department of Allied Health and Kinesiology prepares students to advance health, rehabilitation, and human performance across the lifespan. Through hands-on clinical experience, lab training, and research, students learn from accomplished faculty and practitioners in a collaborative environment.
Faculty
The Allied Health and Kinesiology faculty brings together academic expertise and real-world clinical experience. As educators, researchers, and practitioners, they work closely with students through mentorship, hands-on learning, and applied research, creating a supportive environment that prepares graduates to succeed in dynamic careers in health and human performance.

Financial Aid
Applicants are encouraged to speak with representatives in the Office of Student Financial Services (516-463-8000) to inquire about need-based aid and other resources to finance their degree. Matriculated students may also apply for a variety of campus jobs, which are continually updated on the Hofstra portal.

Internships
Students majoring in athletic training or exercise physiology can pursue internships at health and fitness centers; physical therapy and chiropractic clinics; cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation clinics; strength and conditioning and elite performance facilities; corporate wellness programs; and medical, collegiate, and secondary school settings.
