Lori Ames is founder of The PRFreelancer, Inc., an agency specializing in national and international publicity and public relations for authors and small businesses. She received her degree from Hofstra in 1979 and has worked in the book publishing and public relations industries ever since. Ms. Ames began her publicity career at a boutique agency in Manhattan, joined book publisher William Morrow in 1984, and then returned to the agency where she started, staying there until October 2010 when her son became ill. In December 2010, she started her own public relations agency on Long Island, with a full roster of clients. In addition to serving on the Dean's Advisory Board for HCLAS, her agency does pro bono work for the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation and the Michael Magro Foundation. She has written for Speaker, the magazine of the National Speaker's Association, and stories about her have appeared in the Long Island Press, Newsday, and Associated Press, to name a few.
Yxa J. Bazan is Executive Director, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Corporate Program Office at JPMorgan Chase & Co. She is a Compliance Program Manager at JPMorgan Chase. Prior to her current role, Ms. Bazan served as Americas Regional Head for the Bank Network Management Division and as the Global Head of Relationship Management and Americas Regional Sales Head within the Depositary Receipts business. Before joining JPMorgan Chase & Co. in 1999, Ms. Bazan worked as an equity research analyst and as an investment banker at Credit Suisse in New York and as a fixed income research analyst at Credit Agricole lndosuez in Paris and in London. Ms. Bazan holds a Master of Science degree in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Columbia University and a BBA degree in International Business from Hofstra University. Jannelle Brown is the Global Marketing Manager at Edgewell Personal Care. She began her business career in brand management at the Hain Celestial Group (where she had been interning since 2003), after completing the Zarb School's MBA program in Marketing in 2004. At Hain, Ms. Brown was instrumental in implementing very successful brand marketing strategies - especially the strategy that grew the Earth's Best® brand from a $20 million declining brand to one worth over $100 million dollars, and solidified million dollar distribution deals at major retailers including Wal-Mart and Target. Michael Della Penna is a Cloud/Digital Media Advisor & Angel Investor. He has a track record of launching successful marketing, branding, and sales strategies for leading public and private firms. Most recently, Mr. Della Penna was Senior VP of Emerging Channels at Responsys. Ellen B. Deutsch is Senior Vice-President of Marketing at Hain Celestial Group. She honed her skills in advertising and public relations before joining Hain in 1996. Chris J. Kutner is a General Partner, Health Services Group at Rivkin Radler LLP, focusing on health care laws. He represents health care providers and other individuals and businesses operating in the health services industry. Mr. Kutner was trained as a commercial litigator at a large, prominent firm and is experienced in State and Federal courts. He was general counsel with a managed care organization where he was chief compliance and privacy officer, and special counsel to the president/CEO. After eight years in managed care, he re-joined the firm where he began and lead the firm's health care practice. He was named as a Super Lawyer in the Metro New York Area in Health Care for 2014. Mr. Kutner served in the U.S. military, having enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age nineteen. He earned the Air Force Commendation Medal and was honorably discharged. Hinde Liepmannsohn is Head of Marketing at Exclusive Networks ME. She resides in the United Arab Emirates. She was born in Toulouse, France where she first studied the law; but then, she realized the importance of her creative side and a strong desire to see the world. This, combined with a fascination for the advertising world and wanting to be fluent in English, Ms. Liepmannsohn moved to New York and graduated Cum Laude from Stony Brook University. To solidify her practical understanding from years of internships and full-time work in various companies in New York and she joined the Marketing and International Business MBA program at the Zarb School. Jody Longshore is currently the General Manager of North American Oils at Cargill (a diversified company with $135 billion in annual sales). Previously, Mr. Longshore served as Cargill's Director of Corporate Responsibility - responsible for the deployment of a Responsible Supply Chains Strategy that focuses on realizing economic, environmental, and social opportunities while managing risks to create shared value in diverse global operations and supply chains. Before joining Cargill, he worked in several different managerial positions for both Ceridian and General Electric. He specialized in marketing, sales operations, and Lean Six Sigma activities - and he was certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt (a process improvement methodology) at each firm. Kathyrn V. Marinello is Chairman and CEO, Stream Global Services. Ms. Marinello has served on the General Motors Board of Directors for the last six years. Armando Polanco is Vice-President, Content Distribution & Affiliate Partnerships for Madison Square Garden Company. With over sixteen years of experience, he has an accomplished background in content distribution, media sales, marketing, and account management for top U.S. cable, satellite, wireless, and digital media companies. Sharon Saias is currently Vice-President Marketing and Communications at the non-profit Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Formerly she was the Senior Director of Marketing at the non-profit Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Multiple myeloma is the second most common blood cancer. Before her current job, Ms. Saias' marketing career spanned 25+ years, with both client and agency experience in consumer and business-to-business marketing across a wide range of industries. She served as Director of Marketing at Frontier Communications and grew its Small Business Community by 150% in less than 6 months. As a Senior Brand Manager with Kraft Foods, Ms. Saias completely overhauled the Gevalia's customer membership program and Web site. Lawrence Wurzel is co-owner and VP for Innovation at Calico Cottage, Inc., a Long Island-based marketer of an in-store fudge making program used by thousands of retailers across the U.S. He earned a BBA in Marketing from Hofstra and an MBA from Northwestern University (now known as the Kellogg School of Management). Upon graduation, he entered the family fudge business, which at the time was a small operation. Today, Calico supplies equipment and fudge mixes to its business customers, along with all the ancillary items that they want, such as packaging, add-in ingredients and flavorings, utensils, and promotional material. Mix manufacturing occurs in Amityville, Long Island. Calico has changed the way fudge is sold, expanding offerings from a few flavors to hundreds, including Pumpkin Fudge, Watermelon Fudge, and now Red Velvet Fudge. Calico customers (which sell the fudge under their own names) have won numerous "Best Of" awards. Gina Zamarelli is the President of RMG Associates. She has over 25 years of financial management experience in banking, as well as a principal and operator of manufacturing companies in several industries. Ms. Zamarelli's banking background includes asset-based lending, providing working capital to growing companies in several industries. She has served at several major lending institutions throughout the United States.
