Launched in 2023, the Zarb School of Business Core Skills Lab offers nearly 800 square feet of space dedicated to refining and enhancing the core skills of our learners, including communication, teamwork, initiative, adaptability, reasoning, and emotional intelligence.
The main workspace features flex furniture and a Zoom presentation component with a 20-person capacity, flanked by an independent workspace containing eight computer workstations with privacy screens and noise-canceling headphones that enable users to hone skills through self-paced content.
The facility also boasts a dedicated Virtual Reality room, including software and hearing/visual technology, that allows users to engage in a wide array of simulated environments to practice and enhance evolving core skills.

Core Skills Lab cutting-edge communication tools and technology are available to Zarb students, faculty, and staff, as well as to the Hofstra campus-wide community.

Ovation is an immersive software solution that allows students to develop public speaking and presentation skills by placing them in various presentation environments. Users can obtain real-time feedback and record their presentations for further evaluation. The software offers a variety of analytics for user assessment. Eye-tracking hardware is also available to enhance the experience.

CapsimInbox offers a suite of tools to help guide learners' development journey including skill-gap analysis, developmental tactics with actionable tips and guidance to improve weaker skills, and an individual development plan for skill development and growth.

Management Consulted provides students with everything they need to know about how to ace consulting interviews and build sought-after core skills. The service provides skills training for over 70 top business schools, universities, and PhD programs worldwide. Students will have access to the entire Management Consulted library of resources, including more than 500 practice case studies, 10K+ drills focused on problem-solving, mental math and data interpretation, nine online video boot camps, and 11 industry primers. Utilizing these resources (90+ hours of video content), students will learn the particulars of mental math, case and fit interviews, PowerPoint, Excel, and more.
