All students in the EMBA and online MBA programs will be administered the Hogan Leadership assessments with follow-up individualized executive coaching. Multinational corporations have used the Hogan assessment tools across all industry sectors, including GM, Citi, Microsoft, McDonald's, Bank of America, IBM, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, and Cisco.
The Hogan Leadership Forecast Series includes four development-focused reports and provides the opportunity for sophisticated executive coaching. Based on Hogan’s trademark assessments – the Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI), the Hogan Development Survey (HDS), and the Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) – each report provides information regarding the characteristics, competencies, and values that underlie how a leader approaches their work and interactions with others in the workplace.
These assessments are designed for executives and high-level individual contributors and can be used to coach and build self-awareness. They provide insight into how people work, how they lead, and how successful they will be. The HDS also describes the ‘dark’ sides of personality – the qualities that emerge in times of increased stress, and that can disrupt and damage relationships, and derail a person’s chances of success. Assessing the ‘dark’ side may help confront potential performance risks before they become a problem.
The MVPI describes core goals, values, drivers, and interests that determine what motivates candidates to succeed, and in what position, job, and environment they will be the most productive.
Advanced doctoral candidates in Hofstra’s Applied Organizational Psychology program who are certified on the Hogan assessments will provide the executive coaching under the direction of expert faculty, also certified by Hogan, from both the Department of Industrial-Organizational Psychology and the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship.
