Due to the anticipated increase in traffic volume and congestion because of the scheduled campaign rally for former President Donald Trump at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday, September 18, all classes after 1 p.m. will be taught remotely.

The campus will remain open and operational on September 18. Employees should consult with their supervisors regarding the feasibility of remote work, taking into consideration the operational needs of their department.

If you are driving onto campus on Wednesday, you may be required to show Hofstra identification to a Hofstra Public Safety officer. There will also be significant police presence in the area providing security at the rally.

  • Dining Services will operate on its normal daily schedule.
  • The Saltzman Center, including the Child Care Institute, will be open.
  • The Student Health Center and the Fitness Center will operate on their normal daily schedules.
  • Campus shuttles will run, but members of the community should expect delays, particularly in the afternoon.
