Frank A. Melaccio

Frank Melaccio is the Senior Director of Treasury for EmblemHealth, a New York based health insurance company. EmblemHealth, Inc., through its companies Group Health Incorporated (GHI) and HIP Health Plan of New York (HIP) provides affordable, quality health care coverage and administrative services to approximately 3.4 million people. Mr. Melaccio is responsible for managing all Treasury functions for EmblemHealth which includes $3 billion in corporate and pension investment assets, risk management functions, short-term cash management, and all banking and liquidity programs.

Prior to joining EmblemHealth, Mr. Melaccio was a manager in the Structured Finance Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  In this role he was responsible for modeling new issue structured transactions, valuation, and consulting services with respect to structured products. He also worked for The Bank of New York Mellon in the Corporate Trust Division and for Astoria Federal Savings in various roles.

Mr. Melaccio’s experience includes building financial models, performing financial analysis, managing and developing investment strategies, portfolio management, treasury management, and risk management. His research interests include Mortgage Backed Securities, Collateralized Loan Obligations, and derivative strategies. He has also been a guest panelist at a number of investment forums.

Mr. Melaccio graduated from Hofstra Unversity’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business with an MBA in Finance in 2005. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Economics from Fordham University in 2003. Mr. Melaccio is a CFA charterholder and a Certified FRM. He is also a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and Global Association of Risk Professionals. He teaches a graduate course on Derivatives Markets at Hofstra University.
