Bio

Dr. Tomeka Robinson is an Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Public Advocacy and is the Director of our national ranked speech and debate program. Currently, Dr. Robinson serves as the President of Pi Kappa Delta National Forensics Honorary Association and is the first person of color to hold that position in any national collegiate speech and debate organization. Dr. Robinson's primary research and teaching foci are in Health, Organizational, and Intercultural Communication. She is involved in several research projects in conjunction with colleagues at the Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba in Brazil, University of Montana, and the University of Southern Mississippi focusing on global health, crisis, and risk.

For her service, she has been awarded numerous awards including the Carol Hickey Dedicated Service Award from the American Forensics Association-District III in 2009, Bob Derryberry New Forensics Educator Award from Pi Kappa Delta in 2010, Marietta College Faculty of the Year in 2011, Marietta College Excellence in Advising Honor Roll in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and the Presidential Service Award from Pi Kappa Delta in 2013, 2015, and 2017.
