Bio

Dr. Kang received a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Seoul National University; an M.S. in Statistics from University Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in finance from University of Colorado at Boulder.

Prior to joining Hofstra University, Dr. Kang taught undergraduate and M.B.A. students at several schools including Iona College and Quinnipiac University.

Dr. Kang's primary research interests include market efficiency, empirical asset pricing, and market microstructure. He published papers in Journal of Banking and Finance, The Financial Review, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Review of Financial Economics, and Emerging Markets Finance and Trade.

He was awarded Best Paper in Investment from the Southwestern Finance Association and nominated for Semi-Finalist at the Financial Management Association. Dr. Kang has had papers accepted for presentation at the Western Finance Association, Financial Management Association, Eastern Finance Association, Northern Finance Association, and Southwestern Finance Association.

Dr. Kang has served as an ad hoc reviewer for Journal of Banking and Finance, The Financial Review, and Empirical Economics. Dr. Kang is a member of the American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, Financial Management Association, and Global Association of Risk Professionals.
