Death Benefits

  1. Each regular faculty member shall designate an individual to whom (should he/she die while in the employ of the University) a sum equivalent to two months' base pay shall be paid immediately.

  2. The sum indicated in (I) above is independent of, and in addition to, any sum effectively earned through the date of death of the faculty member and to any TIAA and group insurance benefits which inure to him/her by contract.

  3. Should a full-time faculty member die while still in the employ of the University, remission of tuition will be granted to dependent children and/or spouse who are eligible to enroll in degree programs to the extent that such faculty member's children and/or spouse were entitled to such benefits at the time of the faculty member's death, retirement or disability.
