About the Department

Our hands-on programs, offered in the Information Systems and Business Analytics Department, will prepare you to apply solutions and analytical skills to address business challenges. Our accomplished full-time and adjunct faculty tap into their experiences in business and knowledge, which they gain conducting research that they publish in prominent academic journals and present at industry conferences.

Graduate with a degree from our department and forge a career path interfacing between business and technical units within for a profit, nonprofit, or government agency. Career paths by track include:

  • Information Technology Track: System Administrator, Network/Security Administrator, Database Administrator, Web Designer
  • Business Analytics Track: Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Analyst

We are supported by academic partnerships with leading technology companies, an advisory board of industry leaders, and the resources of our Cybersecurity Innovation and Research Center.

Career Paths

We prepare you for a wide range of careers including computer and information system management, web and applications software development, network management, and database programming. We partner with IBM Skills Academy to offer a series of courses that teach business technology skills desired by employers today. Courses include Artificial Intelligence for Business; Blockchain for Business; and Design Thinking and Data Science.

Internships

Gain hands-on experience in design and management of contemporary systems along with other areas including data management, systems analysis and design, networks and connectivity, multimedia design, e-commerce, project management, healthcare IT, and enterprise systems.
