The second in a series of working conferences designed to explore the challenges facing local Latino media on Long Island and strategize ways to build integrated relationships by taking a look at the economic sustainability of local media; media representation and community participation in local media; civic journalism; social media and community engagement; and the role of local media in creating a viable public sphere in the growing Latino community.

                          Former President, National Association of Hispanic Journalists

Presented in conjunction with the Hofstra Cultural Center, Latin and Caribbean Studies Program, Center for Civic Engagement, and the National Center for Suburban Studies at Hofstra University in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
