Hofstra University Professor Robert Leonard was featured in the July 23, 2012, issue of The New Yorker in an article about forensic linguistics.
Please note: Dr. Leonard's statement at the bottom of page 6 about DNA was reported incorrectly – it should read that approximately 25 percent (not 80 percent) of people who were later exonerated by DNA evidence had falsely confessed to their alleged crimes. The New Yorker acknowledged the error.
