Caitlin returns to Hofstra, where she obtained an M.S.Ed in Higher Education Administration Leadership and Policies Studies, after over a decade in higher education administration and disability services. Cait has a remarkable track record of advocating for accessibility and inclusivity. She has dedicated her career to ensuring equitable opportunities for students with disabilities. Through her exceptional leadership in implementing inclusive practices and cutting-edge technologies, she has created accessible learning environments at other universities. Cait has received awards for that work and initiatives she implemented to advance accessibility and foster a culture of inclusivity in higher education. Cait brings a deep understanding of disability law and policy, including extensive knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to the role, and is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of ensuring equal access for all students. Cait’s dedication to her field is evident through her active involvement in associations such as NASPA and AHEAD, as well as her ongoing commitment to professional development. Cait is eager to continue championing accessibility and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion on Hofstra’s campus.

Kenia’s work with disability advocacy and support began over twenty years ago, when she served as an advocate for students with disabilities. She would later serve as a board member for the Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association (AHA), and represent the organization at local and regional events. Kenia subsequently taught at alternative learning centers in the New York City public school system. There, she facilitated faculty workshops geared toward working with students with disabilities, and developed programming for students 13 -21 years of age regarding essential life skills, non-violent communication, social skills, safety, career exploration, social media intelligence, and the importance of healthy relationships. She would later develop and deliver similar programming at Summit High School, a high school dedicated to serving students with learning –related and other disabilities. Liam is an expert in educational accessibility and inclusivity, and has experience leading teams to implement and manage assistive technology and accommodated testing. He has led initiatives that significantly improved learning accessibility, demonstrating his commitment to creating inclusive educational environments. His experience also includes teaching and development of both undergraduate and graduate students studying assistive technology and accessible environments, and developing programs and services that enhance student accessibility and support. Liam consistently works to ensure that educational environments are accessible and welcoming to all students and he will leverage his extensive experience to further enrich students’ learning experiences through enhanced accessibility and inclusivity.

I have a BA in political science and history and a master’s degree from Boston College. I taught high school in the Boston area and worked as a learning specialist part-time for Boston University. I have been a learning specialist for many years here, at Hofstra and recently I have begun working in the writing center in the evenings and on Sundays.

Ashley is a proud three-time Hofstra alum, with two Master of Science degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling and Special Education, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She is incredibly fortunate to go to work every day at her “home away from home,” on Hofstra’s campus. Ashley discovered her passion for accessibility services in higher education through earlier work as an intern and Graduate Assistant in Student Access Services, and she was thrilled to return to the SAS team in December 2023. Ashley most recently served as an academic advisor in Hofstra’s Center for University Advising, where she worked with students in Herbert School and Kalikow School majors. To date, Ashley has over five years of experience working with college students in both public and private institutions on career planning, academic goals, and accessing the full college experience. She is deeply committed to championing equity and inclusion for the disability community on college campuses, and a fierce advocate for including disability in social justice initiatives in higher education, the workplace, healthcare, and beyond.

Jenna serves as the Testing Accommodations Manager at Hofstra University and her primary role includes scheduling exams and implementing testing accommodations for registered Student Access Services students. Jenna is a SUNY Geneseo graduate and received a bachelor’s degree in Childhood/Special Education with a concentration in History. Jenna’s past work experience includes working at a recreational camp for children and adults with disabilities. Jenna also has worked for a self-direction agency that helps adults with disabilities lead independent lives. However, after her own higher education experience, Jenna realized she wanted a career that helped students with disabilities in the higher education setting. She believes in the opportunities that higher education offers, both academically and professionally, and enjoys helping all students realize their full potential. She is very proud to serve SAS students at Hofstra University. Go Pride!

I have been at Hofstra University since 2005. I began in Financial Aid after being a stay at home mom of 4 boys and it was quite an adjustment. I moved to Academic Records in 2010. I was lucky to move to Student Access Services in 2016. It is truly rewarding to be part of the Division of Student Enrollment, Engagement, and Success. I am grateful to work with these amazing students and my amazing colleagues.

Rachel is a Hofstra University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Human Services. Her past experience includes working at Student Access Services as both an Intern supporting students and as an Assistant Accommodations Specialist in the testing center. She also interned with the Same Here Global Mental Health Movement, where she created mental health programs for schools and led webinars to help students, parents, and faculty strengthen wellness, resiliency, and relationships. Rachel is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling in Mental Health Counseling, building skills and strategies to help individuals achieve their goals and improve quality of life. She is excited to continue supporting Hofstra students in reaching their academic, social, and personal goals.
