STUDENT ENROLLMENT, ENGAGEMENT, AND SUCCESS
Incoming fall students may register with Student Access Services after completing course registration. To allow sufficient time for review and processing, submit your documentation as early as possible.
Prospective students and their families who would like to learn more about the Program for Academic Learning Skills (PALS) are encouraged to schedule an individual information session by contacting kenia.nunez@hofstra.edu.
What We Do
Student Access Services (SAS) approaches disability through a social and identity-based lens, recognizing disability as a valued and integral aspect of human diversity. We are committed to ensuring equal access to the University’s programs, services, and facilities for students with documented disabilities.
SAS provides individualized accommodations and support based on each student’s documented needs while upholding Hofstra’s academic integrity and high standards for academic achievement.

Student Access Services advances its mission by:
- Empowering students to become effective self-advocates at Hofstra and beyond through the Program for Academic Learning Skills (PALS) and the Academic Coaching Program (ACP).
- Ensuring equal access through the reasonable accommodations process.
- Providing individualized services that support students’ documented needs while maintaining the University’s academic standards.
Requesting Reasonable Accommodations
Students seeking reasonable accommodations based on a documented disability must complete the appropriate Request for Reasonable Accommodations Form and submit supporting documentation. Student Access Services (SAS) reviews all requests in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable federal laws governing disability access in higher education.

Housing Accommodation Requests
Students may request reasonable housing accommodations throughout the year. To ensure the greatest opportunity for accommodation before the start of the fall semester, students are encouraged to submit requests by May 1, consistent with Residence Life housing deadlines.
