Anthony (Tony) Dalessio

A 1980 graduate of the Hofstra School of Business, Tony returns to Hofstra after a distinguished 38 year career in public accounting, auditing, advisory, and international accounting standards. Most recently, he was managing partner for KPMG LLP on Long Island, responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the office.

“Returning to Hofstra as an executive director is full circle from my time as a student, Beta Alpha Psi officer, and undergraduate assistant to the chairman of the accounting department,” said Dalessio. “I’m honored to bring my Hofstra background and career experience to contribute to the quality educational experience Hofstra provides students, and reinforce the importance of lifelong learning.”

Tony also served as deputy director general of the International Federation of Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  His extensive civic involvement includes serving on the Long Island Association and the Port Washington Library Foundation boards, the Tilles Center Council of Overseers, the Metropolitan Club’s Membership Committee in New York City, the Northwell Health Department of Medicine Leadership Circle, and the Hofstra University Alumni and Advisory Council of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business.

Tony was named a David Rockefeller Fellow for the Partnership for New York City, and was a member of The Energeia Partnership at Molloy College Class of 2012.  He also served as an Instructor of Accounting and Continuing Professional Education at Hofstra University, and Adjunct Professor of Auditing and Accounting Information Systems at Baruch College (CUNY).

Shari Lindner

Shari Lindner has over 10 years of experience in career coaching, professional development, and employment services in the nonprofit, military, and private sectors. Shari is pursuing a Masters of Science in Human Resource Management from Frank G. Zarb School of Business, Hofstra University. She also has a Bachelor’s of Art in Anthropology from the University of San Diego, graduating Magna Cum Laude and served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Supply Team Leader in Whidbey Island, WA.

Lauren Moy
Associate Director of Graduate Business Career Services

Lauren Moy is a Certified Career Coach with over 20 years of human resources management and coaching experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Lauren uses her corporate HR experience to help students get interviews and job offers and has coached hundreds of business students/ professionals across numerous industries. Lauren has a joint Master degree in HR Management from Cornell University and Baruch College, a coaching certification from Get Five, and a certificate in Career Planning and Development from NYU.

Career Services offered by GBCS

Career Coaching: Provide individual career coaching for MBA, MS, JD/MBA Zarb students and alumni on CareerLeader assessment, resume development, interview preparation, networking, LinkedIn and professional business etiquette.

Career Development Seminars: Several times throughout the semester, GBCS will host professional development in-person workshops as well as webinars to aid in the development of key skills. Workshops have included LinkedIn, Career Fair Prep, Acing the Interview, Resume and Cover Letters.

On-Campus Recruiting: GBCS welcomes employers to interview candidates on campus, making the interview process convenient for Zarb students, and gives you the opportunity to spend time on the Hofstra campus. In order to request a date, you must first have an account on Handshake, and have a position posted.

Corporate Information Sessions: Corporate representatives come to campus to share about their company’s vision, mission, career paths, and current internships and job opportunities.

Zarb Executive Speaker Series: Listen to experienced executives speak about their industry knowledge, offering students the opportunity to learn and build professional relationships.

Company Site Visits: Students have the opportunity to visit the headquarters of various companies, in order to learn about the corporate culture and hear from key leadership.

Employer Events: Every semester GBCS hosts various employer events where HR representatives and executives from companies on Long Island and NYC speak to students regarding their career paths, skills to develop to be successful in industry, and much more!

Alumni Networking Reception: Every Fall semester GBCS hosts an Alumni Networking Reception where current students have the opportunity to network with over 40 Zarb alumni and corporate representatives from diverse corporate backgrounds.
