About the Office of General Counsel
The Office of General Counsel, led by Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel, Dolores Fredrich, is responsible for all legal matters affecting Hofstra University and also oversees the Office of Human Resources and the Equal Rights and Opportunity Officer. We provide legal services such as legal counsel and representation of the University in litigation and administrative matters, contract drafting and review, compliance oversight, review of proposed policies and procedures; retaining, coordinating and evaluating all outside legal services on behalf of the University; and we provide legal advice to the University’s trustees and officers with regard to University matters.
The Office of General Counsel assists with legal issues and concerns affecting the University. The Office of General Counsel does not provide personal or individual legal advice or services for employees, students or any other members of the University community.
