“How do we define ourselves as a university now, and what are our ambitions for the future?”
President Dr. Susan Poser posed this question during her inauguration speech in the fall of 2021. Since then, Hofstra has undertaken a multiyear, campus-wide effort to answer this question in the form of a new strategic plan that will usher the University into its centennial year in 2035.
As Hofstra forges ahead toward its centennial, we are grounded in our values and growing toward the future.
Draft Strategic Plan
Following the collaborative planning process that took place over the past three years, we have set forth four primary goals of this strategic plan. These goals consider the history of Hofstra; its current strengths, including extensive and robust academic programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels; a longstanding commitment to community service and engagement; and the need to meet current and impending challenges to higher education, including a nationwide decrease in the number of high school graduates.
A draft of Hofstra's new Strategic Plan is available via the Hofstra Portal.
