Computer Hardware and Essentials
Students will learn about computer components including building, repair, upgrade, maintenance, operating systems, and virus protection. Students will also learn how gaming systems are made and learn what system integrators do. Students will cover topics such as RGB lighting, overlocking, temperature, airflow, cores, hyper-threading, memory frequency and graphic cards, all while using hardware such as Alienware, Origin, Maingear, Digital Storm, CyberPower, and iBuypower. Students will also learn about the Information Technology (IT) career paths and how computers are an essential tool in our daily lives. Instructors will differentiate instruction for those who may have previously taken this course and are looking to advance their skills.
Computer Hardware and Networking
Students will learn how gaming systems are made and learn what system

while using hardware such as Alienware, Origin, Maingear, Digital Storm, CyberPower, and
iBuypower.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Computer Hardware and Essentials
Schedule: These are full day programs in Computer Hardware, which will take place at Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center. All classes take place at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus between 10am-3pm. If you opt to use Hofstra Summer Camps transportation camp times will vary.
