A Medication Request Form must be filled out by your childs physician, and must either be sent into the camp office ahead of time or accompany the medication being dropped off.

Medication must be in the original container, including the label with your campers name, doseage, and the perscribers name.

This program takes place after the camp day, it will be held from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. There will be no transportation or food provided.



The mission of the Hofstra University Sports Performance Summer Camp is to provide the highest level of athletic performance training in an environment that prioritizes safety, builds positive self-esteem, and promotes a desire for lifelong growth. Athletes will have the opportunity to work with current and certified Division I strength and conditioning coaches at Hofstra University, and be training in a Division I training facility. The most current and scientifically-backed training methods are used on a consistent basis to emphasize speed, agility, power, strength, mobility, stability, coordination, and core strength.

What to Wear/Bring

Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, sneakers, and sweat socks. Campers must bring their own water bottle.


Program Director: Jimmy Prendergast

James Prendergast is in his 11th year on the strength and conditioning staff and his third as head strength and conditioning coach at Hofstra University in 2018-19. He previously served as associate head strength and conditioning coach at Hofstra from 2014-17. Prendergast has worked with the men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, baseball, volleyball and wrestling teams during his tenure at Hofstra. He currently works with the Pride men's lacrosse, men's basketball, volleyball and wrestling teams. In his day-to-day work with the Pride teams, Prendergast administers drills for speed, agility and flexibility in addition to instructing the student-athletes on proper technique and form during weight training. A NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach as well as a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Prendergast is also certified by USA Weightlifting and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Associations. He also holds American Red Cross CPR and AED certification.
