Note: A Medication Request Form must be filled out by your child's physician, and must either be sent into the camp office ahead of time or accompany the medication being dropped off.
Medication must be in the original container, including the label with your campers name, dosage, and the prescriber's name.

Tennis Specialty
The Hofstra Tennis specialty can accommodate children of all levels of play. On the first day of camp, each child is evaluated – based on his or her ability – and placed into the appropriate group. No child is locked into a skill group; if a child’s skills progress, he or she will be moved to a more advanced group.
For youngsters just beginning tennis, we introduce them to it with the New USTA program called “Net Generation”. This program not only teaches them the basics of tennis using tennis equipment in a scaled down version to fit their smaller size, it also has a character-building component that builds confidence, respect, responsibility, cooperation and much more. A smaller court, a shorter racket, less pressurized balls, are some of the things used to help them master the sport. For more advanced players, we offer traditional equipment and instruction based on the individual level of the child. All aspects of tennis are introduced and taught, all scoring, strokes and strategy, and all in a fun and entertaining way!
Elite Tennis
Hofstra University Summer Camps is now offering a new addition to our Specialty Tennis Program. The Elite Tennis Program will be a full day tennis program for experienced players who are entering 6th through 10th grade.
In the morning campers will participate in supervised practice and competition, while the afternoon will consist of learning new skills and strategies, as well as drills and specific games to enhance the camper’s full tennis skill set.
Admission to this program is selective, campers will be interviewed by the tennis directors to assess if this is the right program for them!

Tennis and Elite Tennis Program Co-Director: Sunny Fishkind Former assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach, Hofstra University. Served as coordinator of tennis for Girls H.S. Nassau County for 12 years; head coach of Nassau County’s H.S. State Tennis Team; H.S. varsity tennis coach for 27 years; board member of the U.S. Tennis Association, ETA Long Island Region; former coach, Empire State Games; awarded “Coach of the Year” by the USTA/ETA and “Coach of the Year” by the Nassau County Coaches Association; received Lifetime Achievement Award from the USTA/Eastern LI Region. More than 40 years’ tennis instruction experience. B.S. in elementary education, Queens College; M.S. in library and information science, Long Island University – C.W. Post Campus. Taught in the public school system for 24 years. Tennis Director at Hofstra Specialty Camps since 1985.
Tennis and Elite Tennis Program Co-Director: Edward Fishkind Former volunteer men’s and women’s tennis coach, Hofstra University; H.S. varsity tennis coach for 14 years; coach of Nassau County’s H.S. State Tennis Team; member of the U.S. Professional Racket Stringers Association; USTA volunteer. More than 40 years’ tennis teaching experience. Marathon runner. Graduated from Manhattan School of Music with an M.A. in music and taught instrumental music in the public school system for 33 years. Awards in tennis and track. Tennis Director at Hofstra Specialty Camps since 1985.
