Important Dates

Medication Drop Off Days

Tuesday June 25th and Wednesday June 26th; 6:00-9:00pm.

Location: Summer Camp Office, Oak Street Center

Note:
A Medication Request Form must be filled out by your childs physician, and must either be sent into the camp office ahead of time or accompany the medication being dropped off.

Medication must be in the original container, including the label with your campers name, doseage, and the perscribers name.

Careers in Animal Care - Domestic Animals


Take your love for companion animals to the next level. Explore many exciting career paths, develop practical handling skills, and increase your knowledge of Animal Husbandry, Basic Grooming, Diseases, Animal Welfare and Behavior. Typical instructional activities include hands-on experiences with cats, dogs and pocket pets. Various speakers and a field trip will enrich this 2 week experience.

Careers in Animal Care - Exotic Animals

Is your child crazy about Animals?? Well this is the camp for them!
It's fun, furry, feathery, creepy, crawly and definitely scaly! The campers will learn about exotic animals; their habitat, diet and enrichment necessary for the well-being of the animals as well as disease prevention, handling and lots of loving! We also explore and learn about the environment which effects animals and humans alike. Various speakers, as well as exciting and enriching field trips.

Careers in Animal Care - Introduction to Large Animals


In this course students will study the basics of large animal husbandry, including but not limited to, horses, sheep, goats and pigs. Students will demonstrate practical knowledge and skills on horses via a field trip to an off-site equestrian center. Students will also participate in a farm field trip to ensure an overall large animal interactive learning environment. Included in the program will be in-house recreational projects and crafts to supplement and enhance their learning environment.

Note: There is a $50 surcharge per two-week session for additional materials and staff requirements.

Schedule:This is a full day program in Animal Care.
This program will take place at Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center.
