Careers in Animal Care - Domestic Animals

Turn your love for pets into real-world skills!
Take your passion for pets to the next level! Work hands-on with cats, dogs, hamsters, and birds while learning how to care for them safely and responsibly. Explore careers in animal care, develop handling skills, and discover more about grooming, health, welfare, and behavior.

Go wild and discover the world of amazing creatures!
It’s fun, furry, feathery, creepy, crawly, and even scaly! Discover the fascinating world of exotic animals and learn about their habitats, diets, and how to keep them healthy and happy. Explore animal enrichment, disease prevention, and safe handling while learning how the environment impacts the wellbeing of both animals and humans.

Schedule: This is a full day program in Animal Care, which will take place at Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center. All classes take place at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus between 10am-3pm. If you opt to use Hofstra Summer Camps transportation camp times will vary.
