This innovative program has applied for specialty accreditation through the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). The Hofstra-Northwell Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia is presently in Capability Review with the COA and is pending an accreditation decision in May 2021. Although students may be accepted into the university, students will not be matriculated into the Nurse Anesthesia Program until accreditation is granted by the COA:

All DNP Nurse Anesthesia program graduates will be prepared to sit for the National Certification Exam (NCE) administered by the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) as well as certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and/or American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
