The BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE is the largest program in the Department of Computer Science and offers a deep foundation in the main areas of computing. There are a wide range of available concentrations to pursue in fields such as cybersecurity, gaming and animation, web and mobile applications, plus flexible choices of technical electives.

Student Outcomes:

Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program. The student outcomes for the computer engineering program are as follows.

  • Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
  • Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
  • Ability to function on multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
  • Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
  • Ability to communicate effectively
