Center for Entrepreneurship

IdeaHUb

The Center for Entrepreneurship's home is the 3,062 square foot ideaHUb incubator in the Axinn Library, which serves as a collaborative workspace for students, mentors, and startup companies. The ideaHUb houses a high-tech makerspace and offers workshops focusing on the applications of the prototyping equipment.  The Makerspace equipment includes a Stratysys Mojo 3D Printer, a Makerbot 3D Printer and 3D Scanner, a Full Spectrum Laser Cutter, an HTC Vive, a Phantom 3 Drone, a Squink, a milling machine, Arduinos, and Raspberry Pis.

The ideaHUb will be moving to the first floor of the new Frank G. Zarb School of Business building in late 2018 and is expanding the incubator's footprint to 4,811 square feet.  The new space will include a larger events/flex space, offices for the Center for Entrepreneurship, a bigger makerspace, and permanent desk space for startup companies. The new space will be a highly visible location with a high-tech, cutting-edge design.

Part of the ideaHUb is designated as a START-UP NY site, a New York State program that provides tax incentives for startup companies to locate on college campuses. Hofstra University is also a partner in the Long Island Innovation Hot Spot. For more information, contact Stacey Sikes at Stacey.Sikes[at]hofstra.edu.
