About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Allied Health & Kinesiology! Our department prepares students for careers and further education in athletic training, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy and sports science.

Led by experienced educators, researchers and clinicians, each program maintains a curriculum that is challenging, rigorous, applied, and current. We believe that a comprehensive education requires classroom teaching, lab application, simulation, and practice-based experience. Our diverse and student-centered faculty are passionate about teaching, developing best practices through cutting edge research, and serving the community. Our faculty are wonderful mentors to our students – readily accessible and eager to involve students in their research and community initiatives.

I am tremendously proud of this department and the vital contributions we make to the overall mission of the School of Health Sciences, Hofstra University, and most importantly to the community-at-large.
