Q & A:

  • What was your favorite class, who was your favorite professor, or what is your fondest memory of Hofstra?
My fondest memory of Hofstra is being a part of Greek life. Through my fraternity, I’ve met lifelong friends, gained clients, and made many connections that I will keep with me for life. I also benefited from Hofstra’s location and easy accessibility to New York City.  It allowed me to work for various financial companies while still going to school.
  • What was your first job after graduating from Hofstra, and what was the most valuable thing you learned there?
My first job after graduating from Hofstra was at Citigroup. Hofstra’s Career Center helped me obtain a job in my junior year at Citigroup and then after graduation, I was recruited by Citigroup to return.
  • What is your field of specialty, and how did you come to work in the industry?
My focus is capital markets. During my senior year of high school, I took a remarkable class about the stock market. Ever since then, I knew that this was my passion and something I definitely wanted to pursue as a career.
  • What advice would you give Hofstra students?
Start building your resume by junior year and take advantage of everything Hofstra’s Career Center has to offer. Be responsive … Respond to emails quickly, call people back. Amazing what someone can accomplish and how quickly you can build your career/business with those basic skills.
  • In one word, how would you describe Hofstra?
  • What are your responsibilities as a financial advisor with the Madison Group at Citi Personal Wealth Management?
My responsibilities include taking the complex world of the financial markets and simplifying it for individuals and corporations in order for them to meet their objectives. Also, selecting managers, developing investment strategies, and managing risk for the approximately $1.5 billion our group manages.
  • What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favorite part of my job is the fast-paced and energizing work environment and building relationships with families.
  • What is the toughest part of your job?
The toughest part of my job would be the volatility of the markets.
  • What is the single most rewarding/exciting experience in your career thus far?
One of the most rewarding experiences in my career was being honored among the Top 100 Bank Advisors by Bank Investment Consultant magazine* for 2016.

* Bank Investment Consultant recognizes the most successful bank and credit union advisors in the United States based on several key areas such as assets under management, investment advisory business, and other key sales data.
