Hofstra University club sports consists of student organizations that offer recreational practice and collegiate competition in a particular sport. All club sports are open to all Hofstra University students. There are currently 26 different teams with over 800 students participating. These teams are intended to be recreational or competitive, as well as educational and instructional, in an effort to connect students who share a common interest. All teams are voluntary and welcoming of any and all skill levels.
All club sports teams are student led clubs. They receive administrative support from the Department of Campus Recreation, the Dean of Students Office, and the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement (OSLE). Club sports teams receive additional support from their coaches, advisors, and student leaders who oversee the Club Sports / Spirit Support Council (CSSC). Club sports are funded by student fees and governed by the Student Government Association (SGA).
