Herbert School of Communication

Donor Funded Scholarships

The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication has established a significant number of scholarships through its extensive network of notable alumni and friends.  These donors help qualified students pursue their education and prepare for rewarding careers in the media and communications industry.

Endowed Scholarships

Hofstra University’s Donor Scholarship Program provides tremendous opportunities and financial assistance to deserving Hofstra students.  The following endowed scholarships help underwrite all or a portion of a student’s award from the university.  Students are considered for these funds when they apply for financial aid and selection is based on a student’s match with a donor’s criteria.

Additional Scholarships & Awards

Once enrolled at Hofstra University, eligible Herbert School majors may apply to be considered for the following donor-funded scholarships and awards listed below. These awards provide modest assistance in addition to Hofstra’s financial aid. Unless otherwise noted, these scholarships are awarded to rising juniors and seniors.

The application deadline is May 31 for scholarships that will be awarded for the upcoming academic year.  Since scholarships may be renewed, not all scholarships will be available every year.  Students must have a FAFSA on file to be considered for all Herbert School scholarships
