The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) - ranked in the top 15% nationwide of non-PhD granting engineering schools by US News World Report - is home to Hofstra's computer science and engineering departments. Hofstra Opens Cybersecurity Center
The interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art Cybersecurity Innovation and Research Center will train students to detect and defend against cybercrime and create industry, government and education partnerships.
Co-Op Students on the Job
Now in its third year, the DeMatteis School co-op program offers students the opportunity to gain paid, hands-on experience working in a field related to their major.
Computer Science Accreditations
The BS in Computer Science was accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the BS in Computer Engineering was accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

The Executive Speaker Series offers engineering and computer science students the opportunity to gain valuable career advice from industry professionals.
About the School
The DeMatteis School currently serves approximately 785 students pursuing bachelor's degrees and 60 pursuing master’s degrees. The rapid and sustained growth we have experienced over the past seven years is the result of a great demand for graduates who have the skills and knowledge required to work in the technical sector and to contribute immediately to a company's mission in the marketplace.
