Mail Center

Housed in Butler Annex, the Mail Center provides delivery and pickup service for thousands of Hofstra’s incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail pieces every day for administrators, faculty, and staff. As the University’s liaison with the U.S. Postal Service, the Mail Center assists with first-class, certified, express, insured, priority, and registered mail. When processing either first-class or nonprofit bulk mail, the Mail Center often simplifies mailings with its addressing system and inserting machine. Mail Center suggestions on mail piece design, mailing formats, and list management often optimize delivery time and minimize costs.

Learn about our new Create to Ship Package Shipping System

Hofstra’s New Web-based Package Shipping System - Create to Ship!

Print & Mail Services is now using a web-based package shipping system, Create to Ship, to move the University from handwritten labeling of domestic and international packages to electronic labeling of packages. Our new web-based application allows users to create barcoded package slips to affix to your package(s) in lieu of handwritten addresses, directly from your desktop, and saves the University up to 11% off package shipping charges.

Alternatively, package shippers are encouraged to sign up for a FedEx Shipping Administration account (another web-based service) that allows you to ship letters or parcels directly from your desktop and saves the University up to 21% off shipping charges. Email the mailcenter@hofstra.edu for more information.
