The Health Works Co-op Program at Hofstra University is a paid, hands-on experience that connects students with leading healthcare and community-based organizations. Rather than just learning in the classroom, students step into real-world roles—gaining professional skills, expanding their knowledge, and working alongside carefully selected mentors who are making a real impact.
Before entering the field, students complete interactive training that prepares them for the workplace. They explore topics like the U.S. healthcare system, work-life balance, and professional communication. Along the way, they earn valuable certifications and gain insight through exclusive meetings with industry professionals.
Throughout the co-op, students are supported by faculty mentors who help them reflect, grow, and pursue meaningful opportunities. From building confidence to discovering career paths, the Health Works Co-op is about active learning and stepping into the next chapter with purpose and real-world experience.
