Intercultural Engagement and Inclusion

Identity-Based Commencement Celebrations

Each year in May, Intercultural Engagement and Inclusion hosts two celebrations for our graduating class. Our Graduates of Color Celebration is a time for graduating students of color and their allies to celebrate their achievements. Our Lavender Graduates Celebration is a time for LGBTQ+ identified students and their allies to celebrate their achievements. Friends and family of our graduates are welcome to attend this celebration and join us in recognizing our students.

Masks will be required for all social gatherings on campus and commencements, although graduating students who are vaccinated and have received a booster will be permitted to remove their masks as they cross the stage. Hofstra University requires masks indoors in all public settings, including classrooms, academic buildings, event spaces, common areas, residence hall lounges, and the library. When you remove your mask to eat or drink, please replace it once you are finished.

As May approaches, make sure to follow Intercultural Engagement and Inclusion on Instagram for more information on these events.
