Undergraduate Program in

Public Relations

Can you see yourself creating viral campaigns or planning special events to help build buzz for your client's new product or service? Would you like to shape your organization's reputation or handle a public crisis by working with traditional and social media? If you have the creative energy to work in a fast-paced environment, the field of public relations gives you unlimited opportunities to use your communication, marketing, and digital skills in a 24/7 information and media cycle.

Curriculum

In our fully accredited Bachelor of Arts public relations program, you will develop skills in digital and social media, integrated marketing, crisis communication, visual design, online video content, copywriting and media relations.

 

What you'll do:

  • Practice creating strategic media relations campaigns and developing social media strategies
  • Write press releases, brochures, and newsletters
  • Learn best practices and skills in online audio and video content, blogs, websites, and digital analytics
  • Create a pro bono public relations campaign for a nonprofit as your capstone project

You'll take courses in:

  • Media Relations
  • International and Intercultural Public Relations
  • Integrated Branding
  • Digital Tools for Public Relations
  • PR Campaigns
  • Writing for Public Relations and Media 

 

PR majors also complete a minor in the liberal arts and sciences.

They will share their expertise on how to create effective communication plans, foster strong relationships with clients, media and investors, and swiftly address and recover from a crisis.
