In Hofstra’s accredited Public Relations and Strategic Communications undergraduate program, you will use your creative energy to develop skills in digital and social media, integrated marketing, crisis communication, visual design, online video content, copywriting, and media relations — while just miles from New York City.

What you'll do:

  • Practice creating strategic media relations campaigns and developing social media strategies.
  • Write press releases, brochures, and newsletters.
  • Learn best practices and skills in online audio and video content, blogs, websites, and digital analytics.
  • Create a pro bono public relations campaign for a nonprofit as your capstone project.

You'll take courses in:

PR and Strategic Communication majors also complete a minor in the liberal arts and sciences. 

Concentrations & Minors

You may pursue a concentration in Entertainment Public Relations, which provides knowledge that surveys celebrity culture and entertainment-focused media, or a concentration in Sports Promotion, focusing on coursework in sports reporting, promotion, sports media, branding, and culture.

PR and Strategic Communication majors also complete a minor in the liberal arts and sciences.
