Submit Music

WRHU, located near the New York City metro area, provides an essential college radio experience with opportunities for students seeking careers in engineering or as deejays. The station broadcasts on 88.7 FM, and streams online and on WRHU phone apps, which makes its listenership almost infinite. With many different genre formats to host, students will surely find a music show that’s right for them.

Having a music show that’s No. 1 in the media market provides students with exciting opportunities to interview celebrities. Some past guests have included John Mayer, Foxy Brown, Jack Johnson, Janet Jackson, Brian Johnson (from AC/DC), among others. Radio Hofstra University students use Selector, the world’s leading music scheduling software. Students work with some of the largest music promotional companies in the country and chart at the College Music Journal.

WRHU Music Programming

 

Students can host a show and earn an internship at various musical media outlets. Our current and former WRHU staff have interned at places like Sony Music, Madison Square Garden, and Revolver Magazine, to name a few. Put your musical knowledge and broadcasting skills to good use at WRHU, while working toward your future in the music industry in areas such as music journalism, record promotion, public relations, band management, venue scheduling, and talent for radio or television.

 

Submitting Music to WRHU

WRHU will accept music in CD or vinyl formats. Do not submit music in downloadable files (i.e., MP3), links to websites, or cassettes. Please include general information about the genre of music contained in your submission. All submissions become property of WRHU.

WRHU will not return any material submitted for airplay consideration. WRHU makes no guarantee that material submitted will receive airplay. Please give us at least one full week to review submissions.
