First Year Learning Community

Learning communities have been found by educational experts to promote the academic success and retention of college students. First-year NOAH students take courses in writing, mathematics, critical reading and the NOAH Scholars Seminar in addition to other courses during their first year at Hofstra, helping them to develop learning strategies in a collaborative, intimate learning environment where they work closely with faculty to excel academically.
