Fellow Students,

I am writing to you in my capacity as Chair of the Student Affairs Committee, a subcommittee of Hofstra’s University Senate.  In case you were unaware, University Senate is the shared governance body on campus, comprised of students, faculty, staff, and administration, all working together to address issues relating to university affairs.

Being a senator affords you the unique opportunity to work with Provosts, Vice Presidents, Deans, Professors, Staff, and fellow students to create real change at Hofstra.  This is the place where our voice is heard, bridging the gap between students and decision makers at our university.

If you want a seat at the table, I strongly encourage you to run for University Senate. I will be outside of Axinn Library from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 16th, so please stop by for a cookie and a conversation to learn more about how you can impact change at Hofstra.

Please contact Caroline Schreiner if you have additional questions on the application process via email or 516-463-5419.

Thank you,

Kenny Cordero-Rubinos
Chair, Student Affairs Committee

Eligible students must be nominated by petition of at least 10 voters.

Applications are due Friday, April 19, 2013. Elections will be held online through the Hofstra Portal April 23rd – 24th.
