Virtual Reality Game Design featuring Oculus Rift 2018

For Girls and Boys Entering Grades 6-9

Session 1: July 2 - July 13
Session 2: July 16 - July 27
Session 3: July 30 - Aug 10

In this next level game design course, campers create advanced fully 3D video games with industry standard Unity software, and best of all, are able to test them out in true Virtual Reality with the Oculus Rift VR headset! Campers will see their game programming skills skyrocket as they learn to program their own 3D games using authentic C# coding. While developing their game projects, they will learn the same concepts and techniques that professional game programmers in the industry use every day, and will take their skills into a new dimension with all of the amazing new features that 3D and Virtual Reality bring to the table. At the forefront of technology, this specialty course is a fantastic introduction to the world of computer science and advanced professional game development! .

With Hofstra faculty and staff, campers will learn:
  • Concepts and techniques used by today’s leading professional game programmers
  • Authentic coding like the pros
  • Game testing
Game-Building Fun for Boys and Girls
Virtual Reality Game Design Featuring Oculus Rift gives campers the chance to build on existing programming skills and bring them into 3-D. It’s the ideal specialty summer course for kids interested in computer science and professional game development.

Half the day consists of Virtual Reality Game Design featuring Oculus Rift. For the other half of the day, campers are placed in a recreation group where they enjoy lunch, instructional swim and recreational sports.
