Path to Careers in Healthcare, Wellness, and Medicine is an immersive summer camp program designed for high school students who are enthusiastic about pursuing a career in the field of healthcare. Part of the day, scholars will enjoy college and career counseling workshops while the other part of the day will be packed with experiences from various programs of study at Hofstra University. Through hands-on activities, interactive workshops, and lectures, participants will gain insight into these medical fields, explore the latest in healthcare innovations, and develop essential skills such as communication, leadership, and teamwork. Students will engage in discussions, clinical case studies, and networking opportunities to help pave their path toward a future in health, wellness and medicine. Whether students are just beginning to consider their career path or already committed, this camp provides invaluable insight and preparation for their future in healthcare.

About the Instructors
Dr. Ellen C. Miller is a multiple graduate of Hofstra University, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Science in Counselor Education, and Doctorate in Education. In her current role as the Senior Associate Dean in the Center for University Advising at Hofstra University, Dr. Miller serves as an adjunct professor teaching University 101 for first-year students. As an expert in pre-health advising, Dr. Miller authored the book Prescription for Success: A Guide for Pre-Health Students and has presented at various regional and national conferences. She believes in educating students in all aspects of the pre-health journey, from the admissions process to the wide variety of careers available in the health professions.
There is an additional fee for transportation for one-week precollegiate camps.
