Debate 2016 - Hofstra University - September 26, 2016

Truck Routes

The best route for commercial traffic is to take exit 39 (Glen Cove Road, Glen Cove, Hempstead) from the Long Island Expressway/I-495.

From the offramp, merge onto Old Westbury Road, and get immediately into right hand lane. At first light, make a right onto Glen Cove Road. Take Glen Cove Road south for approximately 5.2 miles (it becomes Clinton Road in Hempstead). Make a left to Hempstead Turnpike Rt 24/Fulton Avenue. Go approximately 1.5 miles to Hofstra’s main entrance, the intersection of Hofstra’s main gate and California Avenue. Make a left into the main entrance.

Nassau County does put some restrictions on oversized vehicles. Trucks that are oversized may travel as follows:

8’ wide loads:
no restrictions

10’ wide loads:
10:30 p.m.-5:30 a.m.; 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

12’ wide loads:
