In 2001, Stan joined the Hofstra staff of the Student Activities Office as the assistant director, where he was the advisor to the Student Government Association and the Hofstra yearbook, Nexus. He was the director of Orientation and New Student Programs from 2006-2009 and now has rejoined the Student Leadership and Engagement office. Currently, he oversees New Student Orientation, class programming, and graduate student organizations.
Victoria Meyers - Graduate Assistant, New Student Programming
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Tori received her BM in Musical Theatre from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. After completing her degree, Tori went on to work as a performer for entertainment companies such as Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney World, and RWS Entertainment Group. Her career in the entertainment and hospitality industries influenced her desire to pursue her MBA in Marketing at Hofstra to further develop her digital marketing and brand advocacy skills. Tori thoroughly enjoys cultivating positive relationships with students and is excited to help facilitate Welcome Week, class programming, student club advising, and Explore Next Door (END) trips into NYC. She is delighted to join the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement team and to assist with Orientation and New Student Programming.
Orientation Leaders and Welcome Week Coordinators are junior and senior Hofstra students who help plan and implement the Summer Orientation and Welcome Week programs. These students are responsible for helping incoming students with the transition to academic and cocurricular life on campus. During Summer Orientation, orientation leaders stay in the same residence halls as first-year students and lead them to sessions and give their perspective of college life. The positions are among the most sought after leadership positions on campus. We hope that you seek out our student leaders as a resource during your time at New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and beyond.
