About Long Island High School for the Arts
For over forty-five years, the Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA) has supported young emerging artists from across Long Island through rigorous arts education and professional training.
Through the Hofstra University-LIHSA summer partnership, students in Grades 7-12 learn
alongside faculty mentors and staff who understand the unique needs of young artists
pursuing creative disciplines
Programs are held on the LIHSA campus in Syosset, a purpose-built arts environment featuring
professional studios, theaters, recording spaces, and visual arts labs designed to support
immersive, hands-on learning.
LIHSA Summer Arts Academy
(Entering Grades 7-12)
Advanced arts programming held on the LIHSA campus in Syosset.
Two-week sessions offered during early summer.
These programs offer motivated students a focused, studio-based experience designed to
deepen skills, build confidence, and explore creative pathways.

- Black box and mainstage theaters
