Inaugural Inaba Memorial Scholarship Awarded to Catherine Misczuk

Catherine Misczuk, a junior majoring in Global Studies, has been awarded the first-ever Masaharu G. Inaba Endowed Memorial Scholarship.  Ms. Misczuk was selected based on her demonstrated academic merit as well as financial need.  Department Chair, Dr. Grant Saff, conveyed the news to Catherine noting, “the Selection Committee congratulates you on your excellent performance in our Program, and it is confident you will make a wonderful ambassador for our Department and in honoring Professor Inaba’s legacy.”

Donated by the Inaba family in memory of the late Dr. George Inaba, who taught Geography at Hofstra from 1959 to 1993, this scholarship award amount ranges between $5,000 and $6,000.  It is awarded annually and exclusively to Global Studies and Geography majors.  For more information, click here.
