We are very pleased to announce that the 2016/17 Masaharu G. Inaba Endowed Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Sabrina Clarke, an incoming senior pursuing dual majors in Geography and Global Studies - May 5, 2016

We are pleased to announce that Sabrina Clarke, an incoming senior majoring in Global Studies and Geography, has been awarded the Masaharu G. Inaba Endowed Memorial Scholarship for 2016. Ms. Clarke is an excellent student who is very active in department events and has twice been a peer teacher in the department (and was nominated again for the Fall). In Spring 2015 she was inducted into Hofstra's Mu Kappa Chapter of GTU, the Geographic Honor Society and was elected the Secretary of Mu Kappa in September 2015. This semester, Sabrina was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Donated by the Inaba family in memory of the late Dr. George Inaba, who taught geography at Hofstra from 1959 to 1983, this scholarship award amount ranges between $6,000 and $7,000. It is awarded annually to Global Studies and Geography majors and is in addition to any other financial awards that a student receives.
