Globalization Day 2015

The Consequences of War, Terror and the Rise of Islamophobia Worldwide

Wednesday, March 11th

We are approaching the 15th year of the Global War on Terrorism, which was launched in the wake of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. As the event recedes into our collective historical memory, the daily consequences of the decisions made in its wake manifest themselves in the lives of millions of people around the world. Join us for a day of panels, deliberative discussions and presentations designed to assess where we are today after so many years of global conflict.

9:05am to 10:00am and 10:10am to 11:05am
Deliberative Democracy Sessions: Imagining a World Beyond War
These two deliberative sessions will be led by student Peace Fellows of the LI Alliance for Peaceful Alternatives, one of the Center for Civic Engagement’s local community partners.
