As the viewer studies the sculpture Knight, they will notice the flow of light through the open areas of the work. As Paul Mocsany, Director of the New School Art Center of New York has noted, “The viewer can move visually into and around the composition in order to follow the ideas and sensations of the form.” He further stated of Pascual’s sculpture, “One of his most successful pieces is Knight, a ten foot, three inch high welded steel construction. Out of a coat of mail bristling with nails, a microphone protrudes like a miniature head. The apparition sits in a saddle mounted on the colossal forelegs of a non-existent horse. This junkyard Don Quixote seems to tell us that in our days, knights have sunk to the level of scarecrows.”
