Contemporary Russian Art
from the Hofstra Museum Collection

October 27 - December 23, 2003, extended until February 18, 2004
Lowenfeld Exhibition Hall

Curated by Karen Albert

Contemporary Russian Art from the Hofstra Museum Collection includes 11 paintings and works on paper, which are drawn from the 46 Russian works in the Hofstra Museum Collection. The art works, created during the 1980's and 1990's, reveal a richness and variety of artistic styles and subjects. The artists are united in their desire for freedom of expression.

This exhibition is presented in association with the Hofstra Cultural Center conference St. Petersburg, Russia: 300th Anniversary, The City as a Cradle of Modern Russia to be held on November 7-8, 2003.
