Student Success Collaborative

Who Can Help?

At Hofstra, each student is assigned an individual success team. Your personalized success team is available throughout your time at Hofstra and is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. Below are some situations you may encounter and who is best suited to provide support.

Every student is assigned an advising dean within the Center for University Advising (CUA) based on their major. From New Student Orientation through graduation, your advising dean is available to help you navigate academic requirements and provide information about other majors of interest.

The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) is the best place to go when you need help with your academic work. The CAE provides time management workshops, tutoring in both one-on-one and group sessions, stress management activities, and many other resources to help you do your best academically.

Student Access Services provides academic accommodations and support for students with disabilities. If you are registered with this office, you will have a staff member designated to work with you throughout your time at Hofstra.

Every residence hall at Hofstra is overseen by a member of the Office of Residence Life staff. These staff members, known as Resident Directors, are available for many situations, including roommate conflicts, housing concerns, and receiving mail.

The Office of Commuting Student Services and Community Outreach provides commuting students with resources and information related to off-campus living, and sponsors events throughout the semester for commuting students to meet and socialize with other commuting students.

A designated staff member from Student Financial Services is available to discuss payment options for college, including financial aid and payment plans through the University.
